Happy Solstice & 1 Year

June marks my one year back in Los Angeles after spending a traumatic 2 1/2 years in Texas (that's a whole other blog post). There's a lot I've accomplished in this 1 year, but I'm a perfectionist and, of course, a part of me wishes I was further along and more successful already. I've recently been working on figuring out my "brand" and how to market myself better. It's difficult (especially with a very limited budget) and I realize I don't always fit into specific categories. Of course, I've always been a little odd and I've always embraced my quirks. I still do, but figuring out how to make that into a successful brand can be tricky. I've started to work on creating my own content, which is something I'm hoping to accomplish by the end of summer. I'm also working on getting a new agent, which is difficult in itself (please send any good ones my way!). It's been difficult finding one that will listen and understand what kind of projects I would be good to audition for. Usually, I've had to deal with ones sending me out on anything, a lot of which I was not right for.

Ok, so on to more positive stuff! I've been dancing a lot which I'm so very, very grateful for! Probably the most exciting event I've done so far was dancing for two huge Netflix parties! This also included a trip to San Francisco! It's one of the biggest gigs I've had in a while and I'm so very thankful I got to be a part of these events! I'm also working on some new routines for my burlesque persona (Athena Elixir) and seeing what new projects might come my way!

On top of all this I'm still trying to plan a trip to the east coast to visit my family and perhaps book some gigs over there. Part of me misses NYC (but then the other part remembers winters there, ugh snow!) . Ideally I'd love to be able to go back and forth from both coasts. I'll try to keep more updates coming on shows and projects! There's so many people I'd love to collaborate with so please message me if you're interested! And if your in town, please come see me perform! I enjoy creating more than anything else! In the meantime, I'm also going to enjoy this beautiful weather and get some beach time in! Happy Summer!
